Assisted Living Communities
Assisted Living Communities (or Facilities) provide varying levels and intensities of care and supervision, personal care and/or protective supervision on a 24-hour basis, generally for residents over 60 years of age. Also known as Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE), they are in a licensing category under the State of California, Department of Social Services. “Independent Living”, and “Retirement Facilities” are also included in the RCFE category.
