The Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter is Here for You, 24/7 and 365 Days Per Year. If you or someone you love is living with Alzheimer’s disease, is a caregiver or provider, or has questions about Alzheimer’s resources, the Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter offers care and support in many ways:
The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900), staffed by master’s-level clinicians, provides support, information and referrals. Help is available in more than 200 languages, and staff can help with decision-making support, crisis assistance and education. Callers are always referred to local resources, and chapter staff provide follow-up as needed.
Free care consultations are available through the 24/7 Helpline and local chapter staff to help families prepare for the dementia journey. During the consultation, a person living with the disease and/or a caregiver meets with a care consultant to develop a customized plan of care. Families receive a thorough assessment of their needs, discuss available resources and support, and learn about legal and financial plans and more.
The Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter offers more than 40 virtual Support groups and education programs per month. For a list of support group times or available education program, visit alz.org/socal.
